  • Date: October 12, 2017
  • Time: 7:00 - 8:30 pm
  • Where: BVS Warehouse
  • What: Wine, Dessert, and Strings!
  • Cost: Free

Ever wonder exactly how a musical instrument string is made? What’s the difference between steel core, synthetic core, and gut? Why do your strings go false and how often should you REALLY change them? Liz Benoit Crew, D’Addario Orchestra String Product Specialist, will share insights into the development and maintenance of different types of strings including the answers to all these questions. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear and try string sets on comparable instruments provided by the Baroque Violin Shop. All area string teachers are encouraged to join us for this special presentation, as well as enjoy refreshments while connecting with string teachers from around the area. Sponsored by OSTA, CCM, Baroque Violin Shop and D’Addario.

If you are interested in attending this event, please RSVP to bettyanne.gottlieb@uc.edu.
